This might shock you, but it’s not “I love you” or “Let’s have sex”. Instead, those 3 words are: “TELL ME MORE”. Now, I know you’re probably thinking “Huh??” But stay with me here and I’ll explain.
You see when a guy is talking to you, he likes to know that he’s being heard, understood, and that you’re genuinely interested in what he has to say. So if he says something and your response is “Tell me more”, you’re sending a powerful message that what he just told you piqued your curiosity and interest. This leads to a much stronger rapport and connection with your date than if you just simply nod your head in agreement or say “yeah” or "Mmm hmm".
I’ll give you an example of what I mean. Suppose you’re on a date and he tells you that he just finished up an important project at work. If you’re genuinely curious about this project, you can say something like,
“Oh wow, that’s great. Tell me more about your project.”
He’ll be flattered that you’re interested in what he does at his job.
Or if he says: “Last weekend was great. My younger brother came in from out of town and we had an awesome time hanging out in the city.”
You can respond by saying, “Cool! Tell me more about what you guys did.” It's a great way to continue the conversation and learn more about his relationship with his brother.
But, like anything else, it’s important not to overdo it or go to extremes. If you say “Tell me more” after every statement he makes, he’ll probably think you’re a bit weird or that your vocabulary is extremely limited!
Your best bet is to say it only when you’re genuinely interested in finding out more about something he just told you.
When used properly, “Tell me more” is a great way to show interest, build rapport and connection with the guy you’re dating. I’ve said it many times to the men I’ve dated and it’s always worked like charm!
The next time you’re on a date, give it a try and let me know how it works for you!
